When women shop for jewelry, sometimes they’re looking for pieces
to bolster their everyday selection. Many times, however, they need the perfect
ensemble for a special occasion or event. We often work together, one-on-one, to
put together a smashing selection that reflects their personality, style, and
occasion. I call this a custom consultation.
Sometimes I assist clients only selecting jewelry. Other times,
we start by identifying the right outfit, then move on to the jewelry, shoes,
and handbag. Everything comes together to create the perfect “look”, so she
steps out into her world looking and feeling confident, radiant, and poised.
Today’s post profiles a client attending a summer wedding. She showed
me her dress (shown left, by Boden), and we talked about her jewelry and personal style. I recommended
two distinctly different ensembles for her to choose from.
The Jewelry
Look 1: Modern
Because my client tends toward classic clothing with modern
accessories, I’ve chosen this ensemble of five layered necklaces that delicately
combine to make a high-fashion statement. The dress neckline allows her to
“deck the neck” but the lighter weight of the necklaces doesn’t overpower her
frame. The earrings complement and rise to the occasion, and this ring (one of
my all-time favorites) will look stunning and meant to be.
Look 2: Classic
The client was smitten with the first look. But, just to make
sure we were on-target, I presented another. This one truly adds a feel of emotion
and occasion. It’s a classic statement, with shining cubic zirconia, that pulls
in modern elegance. While the earrings dangle with significance and draw the eye to her face, the
necklace offers a lovely accompaniment. The bracelet, simple yet stately,
completes the look.
There's Always Another Occasion
Versatility is what I like about these pieces. She came to me with
a need for one event, and left with a selection that could be worn, re-worn,
dressed up, or dressed down. So often, women shop for an event, choose jewelry,
and never wear it again. What I love about our selection is the versatility and
wearability. These are so in tune with my client’s fashion personality, they’ll
head out the door with her over and over again.
