Accessorizing with Jewelry

Looking ahead to accessories for the fall season, I’m noticing one big, bright fashion trend: layering up with clothing, yes, but also layers and layers of bracelets.

Bangles are in, ladies. And anything goes, so it’s time to have fun!

For jewelry, the bangles and bracelets are a key trend for fall 2012. You can wear them together on the same wrist with your watch, combining various textures and types on the same wrist.

If you like thin bangles, wear a handful of them.If chunky is your style, consider chunky chains.

Try mixing and matching metals and textures, colorful watch bands, and leathers. If your clothing is muted or simple, lace, colors, textures and leather add zazzle to less-colorful outfits. It is transforming.

There’s also a personal touch to current jewelry trends: dress with pieces that have meaning. Bring out your grandmother’s favorite watch or bracelet,

or choose some charms that say something about you.

Pieces that mean something are not only on-trend, they’re even fashionable topics of conversation. You’ll be surprised when your jewelry becomes a conversation starter, and appreciate how they represent the “you” inside. Of course, pieces of “significance” aren’t just limited to your wrist. Any pin, brooch, necklace, ring, or pair of earrings fits the look.

As I’ve mentioned before, “anything goes” with so many aspects of current fashion trends. This truly applies to accessories, so if you’re conservative, toss your rulebook aside. Naturally, good taste is always a good rule to follow, but you can have some bangle fun with the confidence you’re on-trend and showing some personality. Enjoy!
