Fashion Trend: The Classic Tee
The
July 2012 In Style magazine saluted
the tee, naming the top 12 reasons we should love it! Their reasons included:
- Makes you happy
- Layers easily
- Covers your butt
- Won’t stretch out
- Totally versatile
- Speaks loudly (with your favorite saying)
- Super yummy (in silk)
- So sexy
- Comes in autumnal hues
- Comes in neutrals
- Comes in brights
- Comes in pastels
Speaking
of brights, one of the hot colors for this summer is watermelon, which pairs
well with white, khaki, tangerine (the color for Spring 2012), or boldly with
cobalt blue. Grab a tee in watermelon and enjoy the many ways in which you can wear
this pretty and punchy hue.
What
do you love about your favorite tee shirt? How do you accessorize to pull
together a striking look? Here are a few combinations I’ve selected to help you
make a statement when you wear your tees.
Look 1: Classic Statement
Double
these two necklaces for a playful look on top of a white, creamy, heathered
blue/gray, or watermelon colored tee. Pair them with the earrings and bangle for
a complete look. This is a great way to dress up a tee shirt.
Look 2: Go Big!
I call this go big or go home! This
wonderful statement piece can be worn alone and goes with every type of tee. Go
simple with your earring. You can wear this look from the office to the club.
It’s a good day-to-night ensemble, particularly when paired with the cubic
zirconia earrings.
Look 3: Playful
This is a playful look I just
love. It is perfect for a casual tee and jeans on an informal day. I’ve paired this
Joyful Gathering necklace with a long charmer necklace (because it has such a
beautiful sparkly quality; it’s all in the way it's cut) with 4 or 5 charms
(you choose!). Complete your look with these earrings and bracelets and you’re
on your way, looking great all day.
Take a few minutes to add some flair to your tee and you'll notice it adds life to your look.
